Nora Jones

Peacefully at Lee Manor long-term care home in Owen Sound on Friday evening, July 28, 2023. In her 95th year, W.E. Nora Jones, was the beloved daughter of the late Rev. Colston G. Jones and his late wife Edith (nee Shand). Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Nora was predeceased by her brother Donald, and three sisters Gwendolyn (Mrs. Charles Thomas), (Betty) Elizabeth (Mrs. Jack Dredge), and Phyllis. Ms. Jones was born in Guelph, ON and completed her secondary school studies in Orangeville, ON, and after completing teacher’s college, she enjoyed teaching elementary school in Toronto, ON until retirement in 1992. Nora has been an ardent supporter of the Owen Sound community and its institutions for the past 30+ years. She was a proud member of St Andrew's church and sang in the choir there for many years. as well as a proud member of the Owen Sound Gardening Club

A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 865 2nd Ave West, Owen Sound on Wednesday, August 9 at 1 p.m., Rev. Scott Sinclair officiating, preceded by a visitation at 12:00 p.m. Interment in Elmvale Cemetery.
