Marion Freeman passed away peacefully in her 96th year, at Gateway Haven in Wiarton, Ontario on April 23rd, 2023.
Marion was born in Owen Sound to Thomas and Adelleth Simpson, sister of Fred, Tom, Jack and Charlie, all previously deceased. She is fondly remembered by their extended families.
She had wonderful memories of her husband Ross Penner (deceased), Don Freeman (deceased) and her partner later in life, Don Laidlaw (deceased). She is survived by her brother-in-law Max (Judy) Penner.
Marion was the caring mother of Ross Penner (deceased) Jim Penner, Julia Levine (Gary) and Jane Wheildon. She was the doting grandmother to Craig Wheildon, Nolan Wheildon (Amy), Matthew (Kate) Holden and Mark (Emily) Holden. She cherished her nine great grandchildren.
Marion was known for her love of family gatherings, her amazing needlework, her great enjoyment of music and her affection for travel. Marion lived a full life of love and laughter and is now thankfully at peace.
Cremation has taken place with a private graveside service to be conducted at a later date.
