Barbara Anne Joan (Bishop) Fox

In total submission to the will of the Lord and surrounded by the love of her family, Barbara Fox (nee Bishop) passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10th,2017 at the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce, Owen Sound, in her 70th year.  Barb, beloved wife of the late John Fox (2004) for 31 years.  Loving mother of Ian Fox of Guelph, Sarah Cook and her husband Wayne of Owen Sound, Blair Fox and his partner Sarah Dacey of Red Bay and Amy McConachie and her husband Mark of Owen Sound.  Proud Nana of Seth Terpstra, Nate, Noelle, and Neala Cook, John and Jessica Fox and Taylor, Benjamin, and Claire McConachie.  Dear sister of Elizabeth Dunning and her husband Richard.  Barb will be missed by her nephew Patrick Dunning, her niece Erika Nitsis and their families.

A graduate of the Ryerson School of Nursing, Barbara held a wide variety of nursing positions in Toronto, Meaford and Owen Sound but spent most of her 44 year career in geriatrics.   She was a devout parishioner of the St. Mary’s & The Missions church congregation in Owen Sound and a member of the Catholic Women’s League and the Cursillo Movement.  Barb was a beautiful soul whose faith in God and love for her family and friends helped her to face the past few months with strength and grace.  She will be forever missed.

Friends will be received at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home, 241 9th Street West, Owen Sound, 519-376-2326 on Tuesday, February 14th, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9pm with the St Mary’s & The Missions Cursillo Group holding their “5th Day Service” at 6:45pm and Father McSharry as celebrant at a prayer vigil service at 7:00pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s & The Missions Catholic Church, 554 15th Street East, Owen Sound, on Wednesday, February 15th, 2017 at 11:00am with Father McSharry and Father Kuzma as celebrants.  Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Owen Sound.

Memorial donations to the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce, the Carmelite Sisters D.C.J. Mississauga, or the St. Mary’s Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
